Tea Tree Mulch Delivery in Clunes

Clunes is on Bangalow Road, halfway between Bangalow and Lismore and about half an hour from our farm at Teven. We grow the tea tree, cut it, mulch it and deliver it ourselves. One farm, one family, one product.

Most Clunes loads go to acreage blocks with big established beds, and big beds swallow mulch. Measure yours before you call and we'll work out the load together.

Gardens and soil around Clunes

A lot of Clunes sits on deep red basalt, the same volcanic ground that runs from Alstonville across to Bangalow. It was Big Scrub before it was dairy country, and it grows almost anything, weeds included. Add over 1,700mm of rain a year, often in bursts, and bare soil on a slope can lose its topsoil in one storm. Light mulches like sugar cane wash or blow off before they break down.

The gardens here are big and established: shade trees, fruit trees, grevilleas, hedges along the road and a veggie patch near the house. Plenty of locals are swapping camphor laurel for natives, and fresh cleared ground needs covering fast or the weeds take it back.

Why tea tree mulch suits Clunes

Tea tree mulch stays put on sloping Clunes blocks. The fine fibres knit into a mat that holds through wind and heavy rain, where sugar cane blows away and bark floats. Laid 75mm deep it stops most weeds and feeds the soil as it slowly breaks down.

It suits natives too. It's low in nutrients, which fussy plants like grevilleas and banksias prefer, sits at a pH of 6.0 to 6.6, and has no chemicals or dyes. A properly laid bed lasts 12 to 18 months.

FAQ

Clunes delivery questions

Do you deliver tea tree mulch to Clunes?

Yes, Clunes is a regular run, about half an hour from the farm via Bangalow. We cover Bexhill, Booyong, Corndale, Eureka and Federal on the same run. Call 0402 294 776 to book a load.

How much mulch do I need for a typical Clunes garden?

Measure your beds first. One cubic metre covers 13.3 square metres at 75mm deep, so 60 square metres of beds needs about 4.5 cubic metres. Keep a 10 to 15cm gap around stems and trunks.

Will tea tree mulch stay put on a sloping Clunes block?

Yes, that's its strong point. The fine fibres knit into a mat that holds on slopes through heavy rain and wind, where sugar cane washes off and bark floats. Lay it at 75mm, no deeper than 100mm.

What does mulch delivery to Clunes cost?

We don't publish a price list because it depends on where you are and how much you need. Call 0402 294 776 with your rough square metres and we'll give you a straight price on the spot, no obligation.
